My wife and I have moved to Italy in mid-September, 2007. Prior to this move and after, I had identified, collected, assembled for our eventual move to Italy many, many links about things one should be aware of before moving to Italy. I believe that these links will benefit other like-minded individuals who are considering or dreaming to move to Italy. This effort is on-going and I hope will benefit with the interaction with interested individuals. I will continue to make entries to this blog.

The reason that I list these links is to provide information for individuals who are dreaming or considering a move to Italy. It is my intent to share these links (web sites) with like-minded individuals who are either in the process of considering or have made the decision to move to Italy for whatever reason. I have attempted to group these links and to categorize them.

These blog postings and entries are not static. As I come across new information, I update the appropriate blog entry.

I have found in my research on the Internet that by changing the wording of the search argument or the order of the wording of the search argument on a search engine, e.g., Google, you may get different results. There is so much information to choose from on the internet. Unfortunately, there's a lot of junk that clutters up one's search. I believe in my presentation format that it eliminates the need for one to do multiple searches. Also, I believe this information is a baseline for another individual to conduct their own search and they do not have to reinvent the wheel.

For my blog, I am presenting the fruits of my efforts of just a portion of that information in a format that is of use to my wife and myself for future use and reference (and hopefully, other individuals) as we prepare for our move to Italy.

I am open to suggestions and solicit comments from the readers of this blog for your feedback.

You may wonder why I made comments on some of the above links for Thai, Swedish or some other foreign language. In the Spring, 2005, my wife and I attended a class titled, "Italian for Travelers" at Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) at the Annandale campus. In this class, there were students from several foreign countries taking this course. I had already started collecting links for Italy and as the class progress, I started another listing for Italian language links. The above list with updates was passed out to my fellow classmates. This class was taught by Sybil Haynes. When Sybil is not teaching, she leads tours to her native Italy. You may read more about these tours at Dolce Vita Adventures.

Please check back for updates because my wife and I will need to further our knowledge of the Italian language before we move there in a few years. Some of the sites mentioned above will lead you to other interesting web sites on Italy.

While most of the above sites are "free", there may be other portions of these sites that are fee based. That is why I stated that the above are suggested reference links to learning the Italian language. You have a choice and many, many options.
