The above links are current. If anyone has any suggestions for other sites, please feel free to post your comment and I'll update this blog entry. For your specific interest, please search the web for further information using Google .

Please note: I do NOT represent or endorse any of these links nor do I receive payment for listing them in my blog.

The reason that I list these links is to provide information for individuals who are dreaming, considering a move or traveling to Italy. It is my intent to share these links (web sites) with like-minded individuals who are in the process of considering, have made the decision to move or travel to Italy for whatever reason. I have attempted to group these links and to categorize them.

These blog postings and entries are not static. As I come across new information, I'll update the appropriate blog entry periodically.

I have found in my research on the Internet that by changing the wording of the search argument or the order of the wording of the search argument on a search engine, e.g., Google, you may get different results. There is so much information to choose from on the internet. Unfortunately, there's a lot of junk that clutters up one's search. I believe in my presentation format that it eliminates the need for one to do multiple searches. Also, I believe this information is a baseline or starting point for an individual to conduct their own search and they do not have to reinvent the wheel or start from scratch.

I am open to suggestions and solicit comments from the readers of this blog entry for your feedback.

That's it for Tuesday, 1 May 2007: martedì, 1 maggio 2007.

Ciao, Ben

"Love rules without rules."

Broken links: Since November, 2005, I have written over 300+ blog entries with 1,000's of corresponding links/URLs for Moving2Italy2, covering a varied and wide range of topics. One of the best ways to find short or long term housing in Italy is to ask around. One couple in Umbria mentioned to my wife and I that they have stopped at bars and asked the people present if they know of any houses for sale or any accommodations for rent. Another source for temporary housing or to buy a house in larger urban areas are small (in size) pamphlets that contain listing of apartments, condos and houses for sale or rent. I have provided above under "REAL ESTATE LINKS", a sampling of real estate companies (immobili/agenie immobiliari) and agents. Some specialize in catering to foreigners and others may be local to a specific region(s) or nation-wide. There are hundreds of real estate companies and thousands of real estate agents whom are more than willing to take your money for finding your dream housing in Italy.

My wife and I are looking for a short term, off-season rental starting in late September/early October, 2007 in southern Italy (Meta, Sorrento). Believe it or not, we have a lead from someone where my wife has her hair done who has a sister still in Italy and who may have what we are looking (2 bedrooms) for about 6 - 7 months. We shall see what turns up....

That's it for Tuesday, 3 April 2007: martedì, 3 aprile 2007.

Ciao, Ben

I would like to dedicate this blog entry to the memory of LTC Frank P. Taccarino, USA (Ret.) and CPO Benjamin Licodo, USN, (Ret.). These two fathers and husbands instilled in their children that they could do anything, if they got out into the world and tried it and their love of travel. These men and their supportive wives, Hattie and Beatrice, are remembered and missed.

The intent of this blog entry is to provide information of interest to U.S. Military personnel (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine, Navy), DOD and Civilian Agencies employees, defense/government contractors with an appropriate SOFA ID card and military retirees, with or without dependants that are PCSing (moving) or relocating to Italy. This blog entry is to complement existing available "Official" information from the Services or Agency sending an individual with or without dependents to Italy. What you will find is cross-service and/or cross-agency information that provides many, many sources of information on the Internet (web) about PCSing (relocating and moving) to Italy or OCONUS.

It should be noted that some of the above web sites are restricted to active duty or retired service personnel and/or registration on the web site is required. The above links are a sampling of links for those individuals either U. S. Military or U. S. Government with or without dependants that are PCSing (relocating) primarily to Italy or elsewhere. Some of these sites are official web sites from a branch of the Service or a facility/base in Italy and others are commercial ventures and are for profit entities.

Enjoy Italy or wherever you are PCSing to in the world!

That's it for Saturday, 31 December 2005: sabato, 31 dicembre 2005.

Felice Nuovo Anno!
