The above links are current. In the event of a broken link or if anyone has any suggestions for other sites, please feel free to post your comment and I'll update and/or correct this blog entry. I have attempted to list topics of interest but if I had forgotten one, please let me know.

Please note: I do NOT represent or endorse any of these links nor do I receive payment for listing them in my blog.

This blog entry is part of a blog titled, "Moving2Italy2". The "Info about, for or on ... Italy" covers many different aspects of moving to and about Italy that you cannot find in one place either on the Internet or in a book. Yes, I said Italy! Since I wrote a similar one for Italy, I noted there were many searches for Germany on my blog. Since I spent 4 years in Germany supporting U.S. Forces, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates as a defense contractor (Wang Laboratories, Inc.) a few years ago, I reworked the initial blog entry for Italy and converted many of the subsections for Germany. I hope you will enjoy reading about some of the places and/or picking up info for a PCS (move/relocation) to Germany.

I would like to dedicate this blog entry to the memory of LTC Frank P. Taccarino, USA (Ret.) and CPO Benjamin Licodo, USN, (Ret.). These two fathers and husbands instilled in their children that they could do anything, if they got out into the world and tried it and their love of travel. These men and their supportive wives, Hattie and Beatrice, are remembered and missed.

The intent of this blog entry is to provide information of interest to U.S. Military personnel (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine, Navy), DOD and Civilian Agencies employees, defense/government contractors with an appropriate SOFA ID card and military retirees, with or without dependants that are PCSing (moving) or relocating to Germany. This blog entry is to complement existing available "Official" information from the Services or Agency sending an individual with or without dependents to Germany. What you will find is cross-service and/or cross-agency information that provides many, many sources of information on the Internet (web) about PCSing (relocating and moving) to Germany or OCONUS.

It should be noted that some of the above web sites are restricted to active duty or retired service personnel and/or registration on the web site is required. The above links are a sampling of links for those individuals either U. S. Military or U. S. Government with or without dependants that are PCSing (relocating) primarily to Germany or elsewhere. Some of these sites are official web sites from a branch of the Service or a facility/base in Germany and others are commercial ventures and are for profit entities.

I would like to suggest and recommend a web site created by a "proud military spouse", Christy Parish, titled "The Germany Information web site". It contains a lot of information for newcomers coming to the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC).

Enjoy Germany or wherever you are PCSing to in the world!

          That's it for Saturday, 25 February 2006: sabato, 25 febbraio 2006.

          Ciao, Ben

Today’s quote is an Italian proverb, author unknown.

          Chi s'aiuta, Dio l'aiuta.
God helps those who help themselves.
