There will be many celebrations for carnevale throughout Italy. This is just a small sampling of events. It should be noted that some of these events have already taken place.

Updated on 28 January 2008:

On Sunday, 27 January, my wife and I went to the Carnevale dei Figli di Bocco at Castiglion Fibocchi (AR). This carnevale allowed one to walk up to various individuals in ornate and colorful costumes and you could take pictures of the individual while walking around the town in the afternoon. Later in day, all the individuals in costumes walked down a runway that was located in the town square. It was quite a turnout of individuals from the town itself and from around the region. There was a large outdoor screen setup where everyone in the crowd could see and view the costumed participants.

Martha, my wife, and I were interviewed in English by Gabriele, a student from Scuola Media di Castiglion Fibocchi, about what we thought of their town's carnevale activities, our impressions and what we saw that day. His teacher, Signora Carla Ghisalberti, and his classmates had created a poster in English on display explaining the origins of the town's carnevale. Signora Ghisalberti introduced us to her daughter and another teacher, Signora Lucia Nardi and made us most welcomed to their town. Pictures to follow soon....
